Terms of Service

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Spickor mobile application (the "App") and the website located at https://spickor.com (the "Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the "Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App or the Site. Spickor reserves the right to update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will be posted at https://spickor.com/terms/en. Your continued use of the App or Site after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

Spickor provides users with concise text summaries of popular books and corresponding narrated audio versions. The service is intended to help users understand the key ideas of a book efficiently. Important — The App and Site do not provide the full content of the original books. The summaries do not replace the original work and are not intended to be used for academic citation or commercial redistribution. Some content may be generated or assisted by artificial intelligence and reviewed by our editorial team. Spickor does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or currency of any summary.

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App and Site. By using Spickor, you confirm that you meet this requirement. When you create an account or use the App, you agree to provide accurate information and maintain the security of your account credentials. You are responsible for all activities conducted under your account, including any activity by individuals to whom you have granted access.

Some features of Spickor may require a subscription or one-time purchase, as indicated in the App. 4.1 Billing — All billing and payment processing is handled by the App Store platform through which you downloaded the App (for example, Apple App Store or Google Play). 4.2 Auto-Renewal — Unless auto-renewal is disabled before the end of the current billing period, your subscription will renew automatically and you will be charged the then-current price. 4.3 How to Cancel — To cancel or manage your subscription, open your device's App Store settings, go to Subscriptions, select Spickor, and manage your subscription there. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. 4.4 Price Changes — Subscription prices may change. You will be notified of material price changes before they take effect.

All purchases and refunds are handled by the App Store platform. Spickor does not process refunds directly. To request a refund, please open your App Store account and submit a refund request for the relevant purchase. Refund decisions and processing time are at the sole discretion of the App Store platform.

All summaries, audio narrations, artwork, logos, text, code, and other content provided through Spickor (the "Content") are owned by Spickor or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to access and view the Content for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, publicly perform, resell, or create derivative works based on the Content without Spickor's prior written permission.

You agree not to: • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the App or Site. • Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to access, copy, or extract Content from the App or Site. • Interfere with, disrupt, or impair the security or functionality of the App or Site. • Use the App or Site for any illegal, harmful, or fraudulent purpose. • Circumvent any technical protection or access-control measure in the App or Site.

The App and Site may include links to third-party services (for example, the App Store, payment processors, analytics providers, or external websites). These services are governed by their own terms of service and privacy policies. Spickor is not responsible for the content, practices, or availability of any third-party service.

Spickor intends to provide a reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or timely access to the App or Site. The service may be interrupted for technical maintenance, updates, or network issues beyond our control. Spickor reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the service at any time, with or without prior notice.

THE SERVICE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. SPICKOR MAKES NO WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. SPICKOR DOES NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR SUITABILITY OF ANY SUMMARY FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SPICKOR, ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE APP OR SITE. IN NO EVENT SHALL SPICKOR'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO SPICKOR IN THE 12 MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE DATE OF THE CLAIM.

Spickor may suspend or terminate your access to the service at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that Spickor determines is harmful to other users or the service. You may stop using the service at any time by uninstalling the App from your device.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Spickor is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. If a dispute arises, both parties agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the other party at support@spickor.com before initiating formal proceedings.

Spickor may update these Terms from time to time. When changes are material, we will use reasonable efforts to notify you through the App or by email. Your continued use of the service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance.
